UPDATE: Steelers’ Jarvis Jones suffers chest injury

Pittsburg Steelers rookie linebacker, Jarvis Jones, suffered an apparent chest injury Saturday night in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs, reports Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com

Taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for examination, the injury occurred in the 4th quarter of an overtime loss to the Chiefs, after Jones intercepted a pass.  Jones left the game shortly afterward.  The 17th pick in the 2013 NFL draft was to be the Steelers pass rushing specialist and fill the void left by the departure of LB, James Harrison.

At this time, the severity of the injury to Jones is unknown and it is unclear if he will miss any time.  Jones has recently been playing well and the Steelers would be very happy for Jones to prove he can win the starting job opposite fellow LB, LaMarr Woodley.  Right now, only time will tell.

UPDATE: Jarvis Jones has been released from the hospital, after suffering a chest injury on Saturday night.  The Steelers stated that tests were negative but declined to comment on what type of tests were conducted.  There is no timetable for Jones' return.
