The New York Jets will be lighter today as they trim their passenger
list to the required 75 cutting wide receiver Braylon Edwards and running back
Joe McKnight. In addition, WR Santonio
Holmes was removed from the physically unable to perform list and returned to
practice.
Dan Hanzus of NFL.com reports that New York Jets WR, Santonio Holmes, was practicing at a slower pace but looked smooth making cuts while running routes.
Michael David Smith of NBCSports tells us that New York Jets WR, Braylon Edwards, was the Jets final roster cut to reach the required 75 limit. This should be Edwards’ third and final ride with the Jets. The aging pass catcher still has some gas left in the tank and look for a team with a need for a big, strong WR to give him a look. The Jets must be confident that Holmes will want to play making Edwards that much more expandable.
Josh Alper of NBCSports reports that the New York Jets have parted was with RB, Joe McKnight. After three seasons with the Jets, what I remember most about McKnight is Danny Woodhead out performing him on Hard Knocks and Rex Ryan cutting Woodhead and keeping McKnight because he was a higher draft pick. Who has the last laugh now?
In other Jets’ roster moves, the Jets cut veteran offensive guard Stephen Peterman, offensive lineman Patrick Ford and OL Trey Gilleo.

The team also gave walking papers to RB Chad Spann and
WRs Joe Collins, Marcus Rucker, K.J. Stroud and Rahsaan Vaughn. In addition, the Jets said good-bye to linebacker
Sean Progar-Jackson and defensive backs Donnie Fletcher and Bret Lockett, punter
Ryan Quigley and long snapper Patrick Scales.
The Jets have also released Kicker, Billy Cundiff, and signed free agent K, Dan Carpenter.
