It has been a
tough preseason for the Cleveland Browns and players like linebacker Barkevious Mingo and running back Montario Hardesty.
There must be something in the water in the new training facility
because the NFL injury bug refuses to leave Berea, Ohio. My momma always said, “Scott, tell the good
news first, so people are happy when you tell them the stuff that makes their smiles
cry.” So for my mother (miss you mom, no
tears in heaven) and for the residents of Browns Territory (I feel sorry for
you) the good news first.
Darin Gantt of NBCSports reports that even though there is no set date for Cleveland Browns’ first-round draft choice, Barkevious Mingo, to return, there is positive progress in his recovery. Mingo suffered a bruised lung on August 15 against the Detroit Lions. Head coach, Rob Chudzinski, stated Mingo was “doing better” and that “they [The Browns] are seeing how he progresses and how he heals.”
Hardesty has been dawged all training camp with injuries such as a dislocated thumb, pulled hamstring and now, the critical bite, arthroscopic knee surgery.
The Browns also said Aloha to punter Colton Schmidt, (formerly of the 49ers), and LB Paul Hazel, (formerly of the Jaguars), claiming them both off waivers so the Browns could reach the required 75-player limit.

Mingo is set to
begin a running regime this week and will be monitored closely. Another encouraging sign is that the Browns
have no plans to put Mingo on injured reserve with a designation to
return. This means that the Browns feel
Mingo should be ready sooner rather than later.
These are all hopeful signs for the Browns and Mingo.
Ok Browns fans
start to let your smiles cry, now for the bad news.
The Cleveland
Browns have already put one RB on season ending injured reserve; RB
Dion Lewis was lost with a fractured leg.
Now, just a television time out later, Josh
Alper of NBCSports reports that the Browns have placed RB, Montario
Hardesty, on season ending IR.
Hardesty has been dawged all training camp with injuries such as a dislocated thumb, pulled hamstring and now, the critical bite, arthroscopic knee surgery.
This means only
one thing. RB Trent Richardson is going
to have to shoulder more running duties both he and the Browns would care
to admit. There is no other way,
however.
In other roster
moves, the Browns sent offensive lineman Chris Faulk to the
reserve/non-football injury list and said Aloha to LB Kendrick Adams,
OL Dominic Alford, wide receiver Dominique Croom, defensive lineman Nicolas
Jean-Baptiste, fullback Owen Marecic, OL Ryan Miller and tight end Travis
Tannahill.
The Browns also said Aloha to punter Colton Schmidt, (formerly of the 49ers), and LB Paul Hazel, (formerly of the Jaguars), claiming them both off waivers so the Browns could reach the required 75-player limit.
