Baltimore Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb is in the process
of recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee. He’s
ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation, and he’s “making significant process,”
a source told Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun.
At this point, Webb is making enough progress that the
potential of him being back on the field for the Ravens’ Week 1 regular season
contest against the Denver Broncos hasn’t been ruled out, according to Wilson’s
source.
While this remains a possibility, Webb and the Ravens will
not hurry the process along. The injury occurred last October in a game against
the Dallas Cowboys, ending Webb’s season. He’s since been training at the Ravens’
complex, attempting to rejoin the team as soon as possible.
The Ravens could certainly use a healthy Webb back in the
fold as they attempt to defend their Super Bowl championship. Over the
offseason, Baltimore’s secondary took quite a hit, losing safeties Bernard
Pollard and Ed Reed along with cornerback Cary Williams.
