Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams left the team
yesterday to have his ailing foot further examined. While there was concern
that Williams might have to miss an extended stretch as a result of the injury,
results showed that he “should be fine” after resting his foot, according to
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Rapoport reported that a second opinion on Williams’ sore
foot determined that the best treatment would be rest. That’s good news for the
Bills, who figure to take things slow with their high-priced defensive end,
hoping to avoid turning the soreness into something that lingers through the
season.
At this point, it doesn’t sound like the injury will impact
the start of Williams’ season, though he could be kept sidelined at training
camp for a while in order to rest the foot. With the positive news, it looks as
though Super Mario will be able to attempt to improve on his disappointing 2012
campaign.
