Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that
offensive lineman Mike Adams – who was stabbed during a recent robbery attempt –
is expected to make a full recovery and will be released from the hospital in
the next 24 hours, according to Dan Gigler of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
"I visited with him a couple days this weekend. He's got great team support [and] family support. We expect a full recovery. He realizes of course how fortunate he is. We're just glad he is going to be ok, and we're just taking it day by day," Tomlin said.
Gigler expanded on the events that resulted in Adams’
stabbing:
Adams told police he was outside his truck and didn't have his keys when three men approached. One was armed with a handgun and another with a knife, police said.Follow @TheNFLInjuryRpt
The man with the gun pointed it in Adams' face after Adams tried to prevent them from stealing his truck and as they argued, according to police. Then the man with the knife stabbed him twice and the three would-be carjackers ran off.
