Last week it was reported that there was mutual interest
between free agent defensive lineman Richard Seymour and the Atlanta Falcons.
However, there is “nothing at this point” between Atlanta and the veteran,
according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Many (including me) were waiting for post-6/1 for things to ramp up with Seymour & #Falcons. Yet I'm told "nothing at this point" #staytuned

Many reporters – including Rapoport – expected talks between
Seymour and the Falcons to ramp up over the weekend after it became evident that there was mutual interest in a signing. Still, nothing new has been
reported since.
June 1 was an important date because it’s when the Falcons
became free of Tyson Clabo’s salary, meaning they had more space to reach an agreement with Seymour. That time has come and passed, and there’s still
nothing new in negotiations.
While there’s nothing new at this point, there are many
signs that point toward a potential signing. Seymour lives in Georgia and his
nephew – who’s become his adopted son – will attend the University of Georgia
this fall. The Falcons also offer the veteran another opportunity at winning a
Super Bowl title after his time with the Oakland Raiders.
