Patriots WR Julian Edelman re-injures right foot

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman injured his foot initially during the 2012 regular season. The Patriots promptly placed him on season-ending injury reserve. If he fails to stay healthy, the Patriots will likely look to undrafted free agent top-prospect T.J. Moe.

Edelman signed a one-year deal with the Patriots worth $765,000 on April 10. He was drafted No. 232 overall in 2009. He'll be 27 at the end of May and has 69 career receptions.

Edelman's primary duties on the Patriots thus far have been on the special teams' unit. With the departure of wide out Wes Welker, he will have a chance to step up into a bigger offensive role. His one-year deal is likely a 'prove-it or gone' contract. If he stays healthy, look for Edelman to be a larger part of the Patriots' scoring squad this year. I'm expecting 50 catches for 600 yards.
