It just keeps getting worse for New England Patriots tight
end Rob Gronkowski. Yesterday it was reported that he would undergo his fourth
surgery on his injured forearm. Now, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that Gronk
is battling “chronic” back pain, an ailment which the Patriots are
investigating.

Gronkowski recently underwent an MRI to determine the severity
of the back injury. He’ll reportedly meet with a spine specialist following
next week’s forearm procedure.
The last time Gronkowski faced back issues was while he was
in college. A person close to Gronk told Adam Schefter of ESPN that the injury
is minor, as there is still not concern surrounding his availability for the
start of training camp.
Quote from person close to Gronk: "He is going to be fine long term. (He is) not worried about the short term, I.e. start of training camp."

The back issue could be minor, but any additional injury
news involving Gronkowski is bad news. His back may not sideline him for
training camp, but there’s still a risk that his forearm will. Next week’s
reevaluation will help determine it.
