found a new home, as the veteran signed a one-year contract with his former
team, the Oakland Raiders, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Woodson’s new
deal with the Raiders includes a base salary of $1 million, while the defensive

On Charles Woodson's new deal with #Raiders: I'm told it's for one year. $4.3M max. $1M base. A win-win.

Woodson met with the Raiders yesterday, and by all accounts
a contract agreement came together quickly. He got his start with Oakland, as he
was with the team from 1998 through 2005 after they made his a first-round
draft pick.
It was a slow offseason for Woodson initially, as the only interest he garnered was from the San Francisco 49ers. They ultimately went
another direction, and the market for Woodson’s services didn’t pick up until
recently.
The veteran met with the Denver Broncos, a team expected to
contend for a Super Bowl next season. For this reason, Denver was considered the favorite to sign Woodson, but he instead opted to return to the place his
career began.
