NFL rumors: Tim Tebow unlikely to sign before rookie minicamps

Tim Tebow has been released from his agreement with the New York Jets, and the quarterback cleared waivers last week. This means he can sign with any club of his choosing, but Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is reporting that a deal isn't expected to be reached until at least after rookie minicamps are conducted.

A move isn’t likely in the immediate future.  Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Tebow will remain unattached until, at the earliest, after rookie minicamps are conducted.

The thought here is that a team that has brought on an undrafted quarterback to compete for a roster spot could elect to cut ties with the player if they're unimpressed during rookie minicamp.

There's not currently much of a market for Tebow, and one of the reasons is that teams have already had the better part of the free agency period and NFL Draft to fill needs at quarterback. There are of course questions surrounding his ability to play the quarterback position, but teams would likely be more willing to take a flier on him if they had a need to fill.

Considering his skill set and limited track record of success -- at least as far as wins and losses go -- in Denver, it wouldn't be surprising to see someone take on Tebow. This would be a lot more likely if the club also didn't have to agree to be a part of Tebowmania, as Florio refers to it.

We recently looked at the different places Tebow could eventually land. Where do you think he'll wind up, if anywhere?
