While his talent is undeniable, injury problems have limited
the success of Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson. Unfortunately
for Browns fans, it looks to be more of the same to start the 2013 campaign.
Coach Rob Chudzinski told reporters – including Daryl Ruiter of CBS Cleveland –
that the running back could be out until training camp due to a lower leg
strain.
The injury is more specifically a pulled muscle in
Richardson’s shin, which kept him out of Thursday’s OTA session. The running
back suffered the ailment earlier in the week, and it could sideline him
through the team’s minicamp.

“It’s precautionary, we’re holding [Richardson] out,” Chudzinski said. “We’ve got minicamp in a week and a half. He may miss that. I’m not sure we’ll just play it day by day.”
If it was someone that’s not as injury-prone as Richardson involved
this would be a non-issue. However, until the running back proves he can stay healthy
and effective for extended stretches of the season his status will always be
under the microscope.
