Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Titans hosted veteran defensive lineman Israel Idonije on Monday.
Idonije was a defensive end for the Bears for the past several
seasons. He recorded 7.5 sacks last season, and his career-high came in 2010
when he registered 8.
The Titans didn’t address their defensive line needs via the
draft, so they could now look to fill the voids through free agency. Idonije
started 11 games at defensive end last season, but he also saw time as a
defensive tackle for the Bears.
The Bears have said that they continue to have interest in bringing
back several of their veteran free agents, including Idonije. Chicago has a
standing offer out to the 32-year-old, but he’s seeing what other deals he can
get from different teams. The team’s offer is reportedly a significant cut to
the contract Idonije received last season.
