The NFL Draft came and went with several significant surprises, perhaps none more shocking than the Buffalo Bills taking quarterback EJ Manuel in the middle of the first round. What makes the selection even more surprising is that former West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith was available at the time. Smith fell past the Bills and every other team in the first round, and the top prospect has said that he won't be returning for Round 2.
After the draft, ESPN's Suzy Kolber spoke with Smith, or at least attempted to do so. He was obviously disappointed in not being selected, but said he would play with an even larger chip on his shoulder going forward. What he will not do is return for the second round in the draft.

Our Suzy Kolber talked to QB Geno Smith and he has decided to head home and will not be back at Radio City tomorrow. This has come with mixed results. Some say that it will impact his draft stock. Most analysts don't believe that to be the case, as he's tabbed by many to be taken high in the second round.
