The San Diego Chargers recently reached out to inquire about
Baltimore Ravens free agent left tackle Bryant McKinnie, according to Michael Gehlken of UT San Diego.

The Chargers are in need of a left tackle, and rather than
fill the void through the upcoming NFL Draft, they could elect to plug in the
veteran McKinnie. At this point, Gehlken notes that no deal is imminent between
the offensive lineman and the Chargers, and a visit has yet to be planned.
McKinnie spent last season as a reserve for the Ravens, but
he was called upon as a starter during the team’s playoff run due to injuries.
He proved effective in the postseason, and now he appears to be interested in
landing a starting – or at least more regular – role in 2013.
The Ravens haven’t shut the door on bringing McKinnie back,
but it appears discussions have cooled for the time being. Talks with the
Chargers could escalate if San Diego isn’t able to land a left tackle in the
NFL Draft, according to Gehlken.
