Pittsburgh Steelers free agent linebacker James Harrison met
with the Cincinnati Bengals this week, and there was reportedly mutual interest
in reaching a deal between the two sides entering the weekend. While it doesn’t
appear as if an agreement will be reached this weekend, the Bengals will try to
complete a deal with Harrison this week, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Bengals and former Steelers LB James Harrison will try to complete a deal this week. Harrison more signable than Karlos Dansby at this time.

It was reported yesterday that Harrison and the Bengals have
yet to being in-depth contract talks, but these could pick up over the weekend.
It now appears talks will pick up this week. Cincinnati appears to covet
Harrison as a base outside linebacker and nickel pass-rusher, according to team
sources.
Harrison was one of several linebackers to meet with the
Bengals last week -- also including free agent Karlos Dansby. At this point, Harrison is said to make the most sense for Cincinnati -- likely meaning he'll provide the most bang for the required buck. He shouldn't require an extreme investment, considering there hasn't been a high level of interest expressed in his services. He's viewed as more signable than Dansby and other options.
