Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman and current free
agent Jake Long will take a physical with the St. Louis Rams today. The former
No. 1 overall pick’s chances of signing with the Rams “hinge on” the results of
his physical, according to Albert Breer of NFL.com.

Long was once one of the top left tackles in the NFL.
However, he’s struggled with inconsistent play and injuries over the past two
seasons. For this reason, the Rams are likely to be especially sensitive to any
signs of issue uncovered during today’s physical.
While his play has declined over the last two years, Long’s
asking price hasn’t. He still hopes to be paid like one of the game’s best
offensive lineman this offseason, as he’s reportedly seeking a long-term deal
with an average annual value of $11 million.
