The New England Patriots are hosting a pair of defensive
veterans today, former Arizona Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson and former
Atlanta Falcons defensive end John Abraham, according to Albert Breer of

In addition to Adrian Wilson, Patriots will host ex-Falcons DE John Abraham on a visit tomorrow.

Wilson is a five-time Pro Bowl selection who spent 12
seasons with the Cardinals. While he was a former NFL star at his position, the
33-year-old’s playing time and role diminished last season. For this reason,
Arizona elected to cut the veteran.
Abraham was also cut by his team, the Falcons. Even at 35,
the defensive end was able to record 10 sacks last season. Still, you have to
wonder how much he has left in the tank. Abraham doesn’t figure to be
expensive, as he’s likely best suited for a reserve role as a pass rush
specialist.
Wilson and Abraham would seem to fit the mold of veteran
players on the tail-end of their careers that coach Bill Belichick usually
targets.
