Despite being one of the most contentious players in NFL history, it seems Adam 'Pacman' Jones has finally made a good impression on someone, signing a three year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.
After the free agency flurry calmed down the Bengals must take credit for getting value out of the versatile Jones, he did a very nice job as a return man and in coverage last season as a nickel cornerback. He's a role player, but he played that role very well in 2012.
It wasn't so long ago that Jones was viewed as a lost cause. His off-field troubles were well documented, and his on-field play wasn't overly respected. The Bengals gave Jones another chance, and he's responded with solid veteran play. There are only six cornerbacks from the 2005 draft currently signed with a team, and Jones is one of them.
The Bengals have done a solid job retaining veterans like Jones, Wallace Gilberry and franchise player Michael Johnson. The next target will be right tackle Andre Smith.
