Packers Rumors: Jermichael Finley to stay

Following on from the departure of Greg Jennings from Wisconsin to Minnesota, there is some good news for the Packers fans on the offensive front.  With news of his future uncertain, Jermichael Finley added clarity to his destination this off-season with the Packers confirming he will remain a Packer, writes the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:

Through Jennings, the Packers have been able to gain leverage on Finley. As Finley’s market worsens, the tight end may need to accept a pay cut and hope to hit free agency next off-season rather than settle on a below-average deal somewhere else this off-season.

Head Coach, Mike McCarthy talked about reducing the volume of plays to help out Finley and the rest of the Packers' offense. McCarthy is hoping less is more with the offense; it appears that Finley won't have to take less than his scheduled $8.25 million in 2013.

The Packers owe Finley a $3 million roster bonus on March 27. Expect Finley to get the bonus and play out his contract year on the Packers.
