Vikings rumors: Adrian Peterson wouldn’t trade Percy Harvin

The Minnesota Vikings are reportedly going to pursue a trade of wide receiver Percy Harvin this offseason, but this wouldn’t happen if running back Adrian Peterson was in charge. Peterson told Paul Allen of KFAN yesterday that, if it were up to him, he wouldn’t trade Harvin.

“To be honest with you, I don’t know if we will or not,” Peterson said.  “But me, individually, and giving you my opinion, I wouldn’t trade him.  But that’s just me and my opinion.  To do the the things that he’s able to do, I don’t think there will be a player able to do it better than him.  Ever.  He does so much, and there will never be a player who will do it better than him.”

Peterson also admitted that he hasn’t had much of an opportunity to speak with Harvin to see what exactly is going on.

Recent trade talk has stemmed from reports of a blowup between Harvin and coach Leslie Frazier. Harvin has also had run-ins with former coach Brad Childress, and he’s said he’ll hold out next season if he doesn’t receive a new contract.

While there’s no denying Harvin’s ability when healthy, the Vikings may opt to part ways with the dynamic wide receiver rather than continue to put up with his headaches.
