Aaron Rodgers appreciates Brett Favre's longevity. He wants to replicate that tenure while playing for the Green Bay Packers. Of course, that will require continued success at a high level and staying healthy. These are two things that don't come easy in the NFL.
According to Garrett Johnston of the Post-Gazette, Rodgers wants to play as long as Favre played in Green Bay. He acknowledges he's already been there eight years, and he would want to play at least another eight years with the Packers.
“We’ll see what happens with that, I’m not stressing about it,” Rodgers said. “I think the Packers would like me to be around for a few more years and I’d love to finish my career there.”
Rodgers took over when the Packers finally let Favre walk, and when he did, he had instant success. Rodgers has now been a starter in Green Bay for five seasons and has stayed remarkably healthy. His health would lend itself to the possibility that Rodgers plays another eight years in Green Bay or even more.
Rodgers has proven himself to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He has two Super Bowl appearances under his belt and one win. He's won league MVP, and he's made the Pro Bowl consistently. Green Bay shouldn't have any qualms with Rodger's desire to stay there for a long time.
