Ravens rumors: Ed Reed could ‘definitely’ see playing for Patriots

Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed is preparing for this weekend’s Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers. But since the veteran is in the final year of his contract, he’s fielding just as many free agency questions as he is about the upcoming big game. Yesterday he raised eyebrows and excited a certain team’s fan base when he said he could “definitely” see himself playing for the New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick, according to Jeff Howe of The Boston Globe.

"Yeah, oh yeah, man, I could definitely play for coach Belichick," Reed responded. "He is a great coach. I'm sure he can help me to expand my football knowledge even more as a player and as a coach, so if I'm ever able to be around him, just like I was at the Pro Bowl, it's huge.”

I’m still not convinced, but there is a lot of speculation going around that Sunday will be Reed’s final game with the Ravens. How weird would it be next season to see a Reed and Ray Lewis-less Baltimore squad?
