Patriots DL Chandler Jones doesn’t require surgery

New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones won’t require surgery on either of his injured ankles, according to Jeff Howe of The Boston Herald.

Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones did not need surgery on either of his injured ankles, according to a source.

Last week Jones told reporters that he would need to consult a team doctor to determine whether or not he’d have to go under the knife. At that point he wouldn’t rule out surgery, but it appears rest has been determined as the best recovery method for his injured ankles.

Jones initially injured his right ankle Week 11 against the Indianapolis Colts. He then sustained a left ankle injury during the AFC Divisional round game against the Houston Texans. The injury restricted him to goal line sets during the AFC Championship game.

In his rookie season with the Patriots, Jones recorded 45 tackles with six sacks and three forced fumbles.
