Dolphins Rumors: Reggie Bush ‘Highly Unlikely’ to Return

Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush is coming off back-to-back productive seasons with the club. However, the versatile back, who’s set to hit the free agent market following the season, is “highly unlikely” to re-sign with the Dolphins, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Reggie Bush's ability to make explosive plays and contribute on special teams will lead to a nice market forming for him, I'm sure, and it's highly unlikely he stays with Miami, sources said.

At the end of the season, Bush told reporters that he hoped to re-sign with the Dolphins. However, the team has several other pending free agents, including left tackle Jake Long, cornerback Sean Smith and wide receiver Brian Hartline, and they’ve tied up early-round draft picks in fellow running backs Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller.

Miami is expected to extend Bush a contract offer, but they won’t be able to match the deals other teams are likely to provide. Of potential suitors, Chris Wesseling of NFL.com says to keep a particularly close eye on the Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions, who figure to look for a versatile, pass-catching playmaker like Bush to pair with their pounders; BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Mikel Leshoure.
