While nothing has been confirmed, other outlets, including
CBS Sports and XTRA, are saying that Reid is expected to land the Cardinals job
and fill the vacancy left behind by the recently-fired Ken Whisenhunt.
Yesterday it was reported that the Cardinals also had
interest in interviewing Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and
their own defensive coordinator Ray Horton. If the team interviews Horton, it
would satisfy the Rooney Rule and allow Arizona to decide on their next coach.
If Reid heads to Arizona, there is a good chance he will be
granted power beyond the head coaching position like he had with the
Philadelphia Eagles. The veteran will also be reunited with quarterback Kevin
Kolb, who could end up being the team’s starter heading into next season.
