Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart is doubtful
to play this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs after missing a week of
practice due to an ankle injury.

Stewart is dealing with injuries to both of his ankles; a
high ankle sprain in his left and a more generic sprain in his right. He’s
doubtful and most expect him to be sidelined against the Chiefs. The
25-year-old has 336 rushing yards and one touchdown on 93 carries this season.
Because of Stewart’s expected absence, the Panthers figure
to give most of Sunday’s carries to running back DeAngelo Williams.
Beyond Stewart, defensive end Antwan Applewhite is also
doubtful to play against the Chiefs due to a hamstring injury. He was a limited
participant in practice Wednesday but did not suit up Thursday or Friday.
Cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, who didn’t practice at all this week, is
questionable due to a hamstring injury.
