fractured leg and torn MCL, and his injuries will cause him to miss six to

On top of Willis MaGahee's torn MCL @mortreport reported on, he also has a fracture in the leg, which adds to why he's out 6-8 weeks

McGahee exited Sunday’s matchup against the San Diego Chargers in the first half due to what was termed a knee injury. Following the
game coach John Fox said the running back was experiencing swelling and would
undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury. This MRI and other tests
ultimately revealed the fracture and torn MCL.
Despite the length of McGahee’s injury and the fact that we’re
already halfway through the season, the Broncos have said that they don’t plan
on placing him on injured reserve, which would basically end his year. They
will instead continue to carry him on their roster in hopes that he can recover
in time to help them for their playoff push.
Backup running back Ronnie Hillman is likely to see a bulk
of the carries in place of McGahee. Denver could also look to other backs Lance
Ball, Knowshon Moreno and Jeremiah Johnson more often.
