Greg Jennings was scheduled to have surgery today in Philadelphia. Thanks to Hurricane Sandy, that won't be happening anymore.
The Green Bay Packers' wide receiver had his sports hernia procedure postponed because of the hurricane. Now, Jennings doesn't know when he'll be able to have the surgery. Originally diagnosed as a groin injury, it was later discovered that Jennings had a sports hernia and surgery would be necessary.
According to Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukee, Jennings will remain in Green Bay until he and the team know when the surgery will take place. Until then, all he can do is rest and wait.
Jennings has played in in three games this season and caught 12 passes. He has 78 yards and one touchdown. However, he has been limited by the injury and has not played since September 30th. The 29-year old receiver would surely offer another viable target for Aaron Rodgers as the Packers look to get back into the playoff hunt.
Green Bay is currently 5-3, tied for second with the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North. Both Green Bay and Minnesota are two games behind the surprisingly good Chicago Bears.
