The Cleveland Browns have placed linebacker Scott Fujita on
injured reserve with a neck injury. While it’s now clear that the injury will
sideline Fujita for the remainder of the 2012 season, the veteran has said that it could end his playing career.

"It's still early in the process for that," Fujita, 33, said. "I just want to get healthy, and then it will be some private conversations between me and my wife and our doctors."
Fujita sustained the neck injury during an Oct. 7 contest
against the New York Giants. While he’s not yet decided that he’s going to step
away from football, he has discussed it with his family.
Fujita underwent neck surgery in college and considers
himself lucky to have played as long as he has in the NFL considering. While he’s
reluctant to retire, he also said that he doesn’t want to make his neck
problems worse and require another surgery.
