The Bears are running very thin at the defensive tackle position. Coming into Sunday's game, the team had been forced to place Henry Melton on Injured Reserve. They will now also be without Stephen Paea, who missed practice all week with a toe injury.
Without both Melton and Paea, the Bears defensive front will be a weakspot for the team. Nate Collins and Landon Cohen, both four year veterans, will need to step up in order to slow down Darren Sproles and the rest of the Saints run game.
Of the eight players on the report, five of the players are listed as probable. Tight end Martellus Bennett was limited on Wednesday with a shoulder injury, but was a full go the rest of the week. Brandon Marshall missed both Wednesday and Thursday with a foot injury and was limited on Friday, but will start today.
Cornerback Sherrick McManis (quadricep), defensive end Julius Peppers (chest), and linebacker D.J. Williams (illness) should all be good to go against the Saints dynamic offense. CB Charles Tillman (groin/knee), only practiced Friday, but he will be active. Safety Anthony Williams will be out today with a hamstring injury.
UPDATE: Nate Collins is headed to the locker room with an injury. The Bears are down to their third string three-technique at Defensive Tackle.
