The Green Bay Packers locked up two high-profile players
this offseason in linebacker Clay Matthews and quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
However, the team is content letting defensive tackle B.J. Raji play out the
final year of his contract, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
From Total Access: After early talks, #Packers plan to make DT BJ Raji play out the final year of his deal to earn a big, long-term payday

If DT BJ Raji has the huge year he wants, it'll benefit #Packers on the field, then benefit him off it (either with a deal from GB or in FA)

Raji was confident that he’d sign a lucrative long-term contract with the Packers this offseason. There is mutual interest in
eventually reaching an agreement, it’s just that Green Bay is willing to let
the 2013 season play out before seriously resuming extension talks.
While Raji will take a risk entering the season in the final
year of his contract, the Packers will also be facing the possibility that the
defensive tackle will price himself out of their range. If Raji registers a big
season, the big man may become too expensive for Green Bay to re-sign.
