It was recently reported that the Tennessee Titans could
strike a deal with free agent defensive lineman John Abraham by the end of the
week. Considering the week is coming to a close, there’ve been questions as to
what’s held up the agreement. According to Pro Football Talk, Abraham’s demands
for extended playing time appear to be holding of the completion of a contract.

A source with knowledge of the situation told PFT that
Abraham is hoping to play 60 or more snaps per game. As things currently stand,
prospective suitors view Abraham as more of a 25-snap player.
There doesn’t seem to be any way Abraham will receive the 60
snaps he reportedly wants with the Titans. Not only is he 35 years old, but the
team already has a pair of defensive ends on the roster. For this reason,
Abraham would be used more as a situational pass rusher than an every-down
player.
