The Green Bay Packers have spent the offseason locking up
key members of their franchise, including quarterback Aaron Rodgers and
linebacker Clay Matthews. There’s at least one other established player that is
reportedly in the mix for an extension with the team, but he doesn’t seem to be
overly concerned – at least publically. Defensive tackle B.J. Raji told The Green Bay Press-Gazette that he’s confident the Packers and his representation
will find common ground on a potential extension.
“I’m not really going to talk contracts,” Raji said. “Obviously, the Packers are a great organization and I’m sure they’ll do right by me. I’ll leave it at that.”
Following the extensions of Rodgers and Matthews, the
Packers have $13 million in cap space. Raji is entering the final year of his
rookie contract, but he’s hoping to remain with Green Bay for years to come.
