Amongst teams in need of talent at wide receiver, the St. Louis Rams seem to have the trade ammunition and the willingness to use it. St. Louis owns the No. 16 and No. 22 overall picks in tonight's draft. According to value charts, the Rams' two picks could fetch them a top-five overall selection if packaged together. There are at least two teams in those top selections who might have interest in dealing down.
Wide receiver Tavon Austin is the No. 1 receiver on most big boards. His versatility can make him an obvious plug-and-play in most NFL systems. Tavon has the potential to be that Percy Harvin-type ball carrier that several teams are scouting for. I believe the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills are both heavily considering Austin in the top-10. If the Browns make a move to acquire New England Patriots backup quarterback Ryan Mallett, it's possible that Cleveland poaches him at No. 6 overall.
If the Rams really want to make a move on Austin, they will likely have to push all the way into the top-five to get him.
