Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Paul Kruger is set to
hit the free agent market, but he told Trey Wingo of NFL Live that he hopes to
return to the team next season.
“I’d love to stay in Baltimore. It’s a great place to play in every aspect. The organization, the facilities, the teammates,” Kruger said. “It would be hard to leave, for sure.”
Kruger is one of the top free agents available after
recording nine sacks during the regular season and 4.5 in the playoffs. While
he hopes to return to the Ravens, it will be hard for the club to fit him into
its plans with the money he’s likely to warrant on the free agent market.
Baltimore is set to face a tight salary cap next season, and they may have to
make tough decisions when it comes to Kruger and fellow veteran players.
Beyond the cap restrictions, outside linebacker isn’t really
an area of need for the Ravens considering the presence of Terrell Suggs and
Courtney Upshaw.
