Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski has surgery on infected arm

New England Patriots Rob Gronkowski recently faced a setback in the same arm he broke twice last season that required surgery to remove an infection he developed, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Gronkowski developed an infection in his elbow. In order to remove the infection, the tight end underwent his third surgery on the arm since November.

Earlier this month, Gronkowski had his cast removed and said he was looking forward to resuming workouts in the near future. This will now have to be delayed as he recovers from his most recent procedure.

There is some good news, as Schefter reported the infection was caught early enough that it isn’t expected to cause Gronkowski to miss an extended period of time. He should be available for camp.
