Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles exited last
night’s 31-13 loss to the San Diego Charges due to what the team has labeled a
neck injury, reports Adam Teicher of The Kansas City Star. Following the game
Charles told reporters he was OK and expects to be available next weekend
against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I feel like I can still play,” Charles said. “I’m fine right now. I feel good. I came off the field pretty good. I feel like I could have gone back in, but they told me to relax.”
Charles sustained his injury midway through the fourth
quarter when he to a hit to the head and shoulder area. He remained on the
ground for several moments before he was able to exit the field under his own
power.
While the Chiefs tested Charles for a concussion, but they
were able to rule that out and instead diagnose it as a neck injury.
