The NFL trade deadline has been extended. While not as integral a part of building an NFL team as it is a MLB team, the NFL trade deadline is still important. With Hurricane Sandy barreling down on the east coast, the National Football League has announced that it will extend the deadline to Thursday, November 1st at 4 PM EST.
According to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com, spokesman for the NFL George Aiello announced the extension in large part due to many east coast facilities being shut down. Many of the teams have told employees and players not to show up at the facilities today because of the impending weather.
As it relates to our coverage, the trade deadline offers teams a chance to try to recover from seemingly devastating injuries. If a player whom a team was counting on goes down to injury, they generally have to rely on the next player on the depth chart. In some cases, though, teams will go out and make a trade to fill the void. If that's the case with any team this season, we'll be sure to bring you the coverage.
