Former New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis
visited with the New England Patriots yesterday, according to Tom E. Curran of
CSN New England.
Also, the Patriots released Tyrone Greene and hosted defensive lineman Sedrick Ellis. #PatriotsTalk

Sadly, Ellis is viewed as one of the biggest busts of the
2008 NFL Draft class. He made 70 starts with the Saints, but he proved a liability
against the run. While he entered the league viewed as a pass-rushing
specialist, he managed only 12.5 sacks over five seasons.
Ellis is a former first-round pick of the Saints. New
Orleans considered re-signing him prior to the draft, but he’s reportedly faced
a “cold market” for nearly three months. Beyond the Saints and Patriots, the
Arizona Cardinals were also previously connected to Ellis.
